One night recently at Studio5, Dennis Carroll and George Fludas told me I should check out a pianist they were working with named Reggie Thomas. When musicians like that sing someone’s praises, it is wise to pay attention.
Therefore, Studio5 is excited and proud to present:
The Reggie Thomas Trio!
Reggie Thomas is the coordinator of the internationally recognized Northern Illinois University School of Music’s Jazz Studies program. He has performed internationally in Canada, Italy, Poland, Senegal, and England, and his recordings include work with Clay Jenkins, Kim Richmond, Clark Terry, and Mike Vax. Thomas is co-author with Wynton Marsalis and others on the important jazz teachers’ resource Teaching Music through Performance in Jazz. And on October 4th we’ll all get to hear him in person. We can’t wait!
Reggie Thomas, piano
Dennis Carroll, bass
George Fludas, drums
We’ll be recording this performance for Chicago Jazz Live on WDCB, so you’ll be part of the studio audience! See you there. -SR
